Govt Extends Deadlines For Companies To File Annual Financial Statements, Returns

The corporate affairs ministry has extended the deadline for companies to file their annual financial statements for fiscal 2025-26 until December 31, 2026. Additionally, companies can now submit their annual returns until January 31, 2027. These extensions follow representations from stakeholders facing issues with the MCA 21 portal. The ministry clarified that this does not extend the statutory time for holding Annual General Meetings. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India welcomed the relief, citing the transition to the MCA 21 V3 portal.

कॉर्पोरेट मामलों के मंत्रालय ने वित्तीय वर्ष 2025-26 के लिए कंपनियों की वार्षिक वित्तीय विवरण दाखिल करने की समय सीमा 31 दिसंबर, 2026 तक बढ़ा दी है। इसके अतिरिक्त, कंपनियां अब 31 जनवरी, 2027 तक अपने वार्षिक रिटर्न जमा कर सकती हैं। ये विस्तार MCA 21 पोर्टल के साथ समस्याओं का सामना कर रहे हितधारकों के अभ्यावेदन के बाद आए हैं। मंत्रालय ने स्पष्ट किया कि इससे वार्षिक आम बैठकें आयोजित करने की वैधानिक अवधि नहीं बढ़ती है। इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ कंपनी सेक्रेटरीज ऑफ इंडिया ने MCA 21 V3 पोर्टल में संक्रमण का हवाला देते हुए इस राहत का स्वागत किया।
