US Zero Tariffs on Key Medicines for India

The US will not impose any ad valorem tariffs on certain critical medicines and their ingredients imported from India and 19 other countries. These medicines are used to treat rare diseases. The US Commerce Department has released a list of beneficiary nations, including India, Argentina, Bangladesh, and the EU. This move comes as a significant relief, as the US had been preparing to impose 100% tariffs on some patented pharmaceutical imports. The zero-tariff policy applies to products with existing or future trade and security framework agreements with the US.
