Lionel Richie has confirmed his return as a judge for the 25th season of American Idol. The announcement was made during fellow judge Luke Bryan's concert in Nashville, where Richie appeared via video call. Carrie Underwood, also a co-judge, was present and confirmed the news. Host Ryan Seacrest will also be back for the upcoming season. Richie's return comes after recent health concerns, including a medical procedure for atrial fibrillation and previous hospitalizations, which had led to cancelled tour dates.
