The Tamil Nadu government has officially renamed the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme as the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme. This initiative, initially launched for students in Classes I to V, has been expanded to include students in Classes VI to VIII. The expanded scheme will now benefit over 34 lakh students across government and government-aided schools. An additional expenditure of approximately ₹343.55 crore is estimated for this expansion, with ₹217.

तमिलनाडु सरकार ने मुख्यमंत्री नाश्ता योजना का नाम बदलकर 'पेरुंथलाइवर कामराज नाश्ता योजना' कर दिया है। यह योजना पहले कक्षा 1 से 5 तक के छात्रों के लिए थी, जिसे अब कक्षा 6 से 8 तक के छात्रों के लिए भी बढ़ा दिया गया है। इससे सरकारी और सहायता प्राप्त स्कूलों के 34 लाख से ज़्यादा छात्र लाभान्वित होंगे। इस विस्तार पर लगभग ₹343.55 करोड़ का अतिरिक्त खर्च आएगा।
