Mexican television presenter Ines Gomez Mont has been arrested in Miami by US authorities. The 43-year-old is accused of involvement in organised crime, money laundering, and tax fraud, allegedly siphoning public funds through bogus companies. Her husband, lawyer Victor Manuel Alvarez Puga, faces similar charges. The couple fled Mexico in September 2021 after arrest warrants were issued. Mexican prosecutors confirmed the arrest followed information exchange between Mexican and US authorities, with the presenter now in US custody pending extradition.
