Michael Jackson Biopic 'Michael' Denied Musical/Comedy Golden Globe Submission

Times of India · entertainment

The Michael Jackson biopic 'Michael', starring Jaafar Jackson, has been denied classification in the musical/comedy category for the upcoming Golden Globe Awards. The committee reportedly rejected the film's submission after determining that its musical performances did not sufficiently drive the narrative, a key criterion for the category. Consequently, the film and its lead actor will now contend in the more competitive drama categories. The studio, Lionsgate, is reportedly considering an appeal before the submission deadline.
