Satluj Bridge May Collapse Anytime, Human Rights Panel Seeks Action

The Punjab State and Chandigarh Human Rights Commission has taken notice of a complaint regarding the deteriorating condition of the Rahon-Machhiwara bridge over the Satluj river. The commission has directed the deputy commissioner of Ludhiana and the superintendent engineer of the Public Works Department to investigate the matter and take necessary measures. A report is to be submitted. The complaint highlights that the bridge, a vital public route, shows structural cracks and deterioration, posing a significant risk to commuters.

पंजाब राज्य और चंडीगढ़ मानवाधिकार आयोग ने सतलुज नदी पर स्थित राहों-माछीवाड़ा पुल की बिगड़ती स्थिति के संबंध में एक शिकायत पर संज्ञान लिया है। आयोग ने लुधियाना के उपायुक्त और लोक निर्माण विभाग के अधीक्षक अभियंता को मामले की जांच करने और आवश्यक उपाय करने का निर्देश दिया है। एक रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत की जानी है। शिकायत में इस बात पर प्रकाश डाला गया है कि पुल, जो एक महत्वपूर्ण सार्वजनिक मार्ग है, में संरचनात्मक दरारें और खराबी दिखाई दे रही है, जिससे यात्रियों को गंभीर खतरा है।
