No One-Size-Fits-All Climate Action, Says India's Environment Minister

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav stated that climate action requires a tailored approach, emphasizing that there is no single solution for all nations. Speaking at Pre-COP31 meetings in Fiji, he highlighted the importance of adaptation, mitigation, and means of implementation. Yadav noted India's understanding of challenges faced by Pacific Island nations due to its own extensive coastline and islands. He offered to share India's expertise in coastal management and space-based Earth observation with partner countries, stressing the need for equity and differentiated responsibilities in global climate efforts.

केंद्रीय पर्यावरण मंत्री भूपेंद्र यादव ने कहा कि जलवायु कार्रवाई के लिए एक खास तरीके की ज़रूरत है, और सभी देशों के लिए कोई एक समाधान नहीं है। Fiji में Pre-COP31 की बैठकों में उन्होंने कहा कि अनुकूलन, शमन और कार्यान्वयन के साधनों का महत्व है। यादव ने कहा कि भारत प्रशांत द्वीप देशों की चुनौतियों को समझता है क्योंकि भारत का भी लंबा समुद्र तट और द्वीप हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत अपने तटीय प्रबंधन और अंतरिक्ष-आधारित पृथ्वी अवलोकन में अपनी विशेषज्ञता साझेदार देशों के साथ साझा करने को तैयार है। उन्होंने वैश्विक जलवायु प्रयासों में समानता और अलग-अलग ज़िम्मेदारियों की ज़रूरत पर ज़ोर दिया।
