Daler Mehndi Asked to Stop Singing at Navratri Event

Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi's performance at the Kunjapuri Fair in Tehri, Uttarakhand, has sparked controversy. State cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal walked onto the stage and asked Mehndi to stop singing, stating the event was a Durga Mata programme for Navratri. Uniyal alleged the singer was performing after drinking alcohol, which he deemed inappropriate for the religious occasion. The minister expressed disappointment, saying the singer was called to entertain but was making a fool of them. Mehndi requested the minister to leave the stage.

पंजाबी गायक दिलेर मेहंदी का उत्तराखंड के टिहरी में कुंजपुरी मेले में प्रदर्शन विवादों में घिर गया है। राज्य के कैबिनेट मंत्री सुबोध उनियाल मंच पर चढ़ गए और मेहंदी से गाना बंद करने को कहा, यह कहते हुए कि यह नवरात्रि के लिए दुर्गा माता का कार्यक्रम था। उनियाल ने आरोप लगाया कि गायक शराब पीकर प्रदर्शन कर रहा था, जिसे उन्होंने धार्मिक अवसर के लिए अनुचित बताया। मंत्री ने निराशा व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि गायक को मनोरंजन के लिए बुलाया गया था लेकिन वह उनका मजाक उड़ा रहा था। मेहंदी ने मंत्री से मंच छोड़ने का अनुरोध किया।
