Union Minister G Kishan Reddy alleged that coal theft and illegal mining had become an industry during the previous government's tenure in West Bengal, creating a 'jungle raj'. He stated that while the situation has now improved significantly with actions being taken, numerous reports of illegal mining and revenue irregularities were received. Reddy also highlighted that over ₹1.47 lakh crore in infrastructure projects are in the pipeline for West Bengal, with over ₹79,000 crore already spent.

केंद्रीय मंत्री जी किशन रेड्डी ने आरोप लगाया कि पश्चिम बंगाल में पिछली सरकार के कार्यकाल के दौरान कोयला चोरी और अवैध खनन एक उद्योग बन गए थे, जिससे 'जंगल राज' की स्थिति पैदा हो गई थी। उन्होंने कहा कि अब कार्रवाई किए जाने से स्थिति में काफी सुधार हुआ है, लेकिन अवैध खनन और राजस्व अनियमितताओं की कई रिपोर्टें मिलीं। रेड्डी ने यह भी बताया कि पश्चिम बंगाल के लिए ₹1.47 लाख करोड़ से अधिक की बुनियादी ढांचा परियोजनाओं पर काम चल रहा है, जिसमें से ₹79,000 करोड़ से अधिक पहले ही खर्च किए जा चुके हैं।
