BJP has nominated eight candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections from Uttar Pradesh, while the Samajwadi Party (SP) has fielded two. With these nominations, all ten Upper House seats from the state are now set to be filled without a contest. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other senior leaders accompanied the BJP nominees during the filing of papers. The SP had considered fielding a third candidate but decided against it after assessing the numbers and potential for cross-voting, shifting focus to the upcoming Assembly elections.
