Sebi to Partially Reverse Derivative Settlement Rules After Market Pushback
Economic Times Markets · stocks
India's market regulator, Sebi, will partially reverse its new derivative settlement rules following significant pushback. The regulator had introduced a closing auction session (CAS) to determine stock closing prices, but this led to sharp swings in derivatives prices on expiry days. Sebi received over 20,000 suggestions to amend the rules. A key change will involve using the volume-weighted average price of the last 30 minutes of trading for derivative settlement prices for at least a year, aligning India more closely with global markets.
