Georgia-Russia Trade Surges 19.1% To $2 Billion

Trade between Georgia and Russia surged by 19.1% to over $2 billion in January-August 2026, according to Georgia's National Statistics Office. Russia is now Georgia's third-largest trading partner, accounting for 11.3% of its foreign trade. Georgian exports to Russia increased by 4.1% to approximately $500.7 million, while imports rose by 24.9% to about $1.5 billion. This significant increase highlights growing economic ties between the two nations during the first eight months of the year.
