Following inspection and clearance by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) for operations at 100kmph, a successful speed trial reached 117kmph. The project involved significant track work, yard remodelling, and infrastructure upgrades through challenging hilly terrain. This new line is expected to significantly reduce congestion, improve train punctuality, and increase capacity for both passenger and freight services on this vital Mumbai corridor.

सेंट्रल रेलवे ने कल्याण-कसारा तीसरी लाइन प्रोजेक्ट का 13.53 किमी का एक महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा चालू कर दिया है, जो खर्डी और कसारा को जोड़ता है। कमिश्नर ऑफ रेलवे सेफ्टी (CRS) से 100 किमी प्रति घंटा की गति से संचालन के लिए निरीक्षण और मंजूरी मिलने के बाद, एक सफल स्पीड ट्रायल में 117 किमी प्रति घंटा की गति दर्ज की गई। इस प्रोजेक्ट में चुनौतीपूर्ण पहाड़ी इलाकों में महत्वपूर्ण ट्रैक वर्क, यार्ड रीमॉडलिंग और इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर अपग्रेड शामिल थे। इस नई लाइन से इस महत्वपूर्ण मुंबई कॉरिडोर पर यात्री और मालगाड़ी सेवाओं दोनों के लिए भीड़ कम होने, ट्रेन की समय की पाबंदी में सुधार होने और क्षमता बढ़ने की उम्मीद है।
