Delhi is facing a worsening waste management crisis, with a DPCC report revealing that 44% of daily waste, amounting to 6,131 tonnes, is directly dumped into landfills. The city generates 13,862 tonnes of waste daily, but only 55.84% is processed. This unprocessed waste is piling up at Okhla, Bhalswa, and Ghazipur sites. Delays in new processing plants and issues with contractor transitions are exacerbating the problem, overwhelming municipal capacity. The situation is particularly severe in Central, South, and West Delhi zones.
