IIT Madras Fund Closes ₹450 Cr, Invests

IIT Madras, IIT Madras Research Park, and Unicorn India Ventures have announced the first close of their ₹1,000 crore deep-tech fund at ₹450 crore. This milestone was achieved three months after receiving approval from SEBI, with the final close anticipated by December 2026. The fund has already deployed nearly ₹55 crore across four deep-tech startups in sectors like spacetech, quantum instrumentation, battery cells, and carbon capture.

आईआईटी मद्रास, आईआईटी मद्रास रिसर्च पार्क और यूनिकॉर्न इंडिया वेंचर्स ने अपने ₹1,000 करोड़ के डीप-टेक फंड का पहला क्लोज ₹450 करोड़ पर पूरा कर लिया है। SEBI से मंजूरी मिलने के तीन महीने बाद यह बड़ी उपलब्धि हासिल हुई है। फंड का अंतिम क्लोज दिसंबर 2026 तक होने की उम्मीद है। अब तक, फंड ने स्पेस-टेक, क्वांटम इंस्ट्रूमेंटेशन, बैटरी सेल्स और कार्बन कैप्चर जैसे क्षेत्रों की चार डीप-टेक स्टार्टअप्स में लगभग ₹55 करोड़ का निवेश किया है।
