RBL Bank Eyes Broking, Mutual Funds To Expand Capital Market Presence

RBL Bank is evaluating a foray into the broking and asset management space to expand its capital market activities. Managing Director R Subramaniakumar stated that decisions are still under evaluation, with no timeline provided for firming up plans. Activities like asset management, mutual funds, and advisory services will likely be housed in specialized units outside the bank. The bank is also proposing to enter custodian and settlement services, with work underway and expected to take up to three quarters to launch. Merger and acquisition finance has also been initiated.

आरबीएल बैंक अपनी पूंजी बाजार की गतिविधियों को बढ़ाने के लिए ब्रोकिंग और एसेट मैनेजमेंट के क्षेत्र में उतरने पर विचार कर रहा है। मैनेजिंग डायरेक्टर आर. सुब्रमण्यकुमार ने कहा कि फैसले अभी भी मूल्यांकन के अधीन हैं, और योजनाओं को अंतिम रूप देने की कोई समय-सीमा नहीं दी गई है। एसेट मैनेजमेंट, म्यूचुअल फंड और सलाहकार सेवाओं जैसी गतिविधियां संभवतः बैंक के बाहर विशेष इकाइयों में रखी जाएंगी। बैंक कस्टोडियन और सेटलमेंट सेवाओं में प्रवेश करने का भी प्रस्ताव कर रहा है, जिस पर काम चल रहा है और इसे लॉन्च होने में तीन तिमाहियों तक का समय लगने की उम्मीद है। मर्जर और एक्विजिशन फाइनेंस भी शुरू कर दिया गया है।
