Scientists have discovered that trimming aggressive climbing vines from damaged Borneo forests significantly accelerates canopy recovery. Areas where vines were removed showed a carbon storage rate three times faster than those with newly planted trees, according to laser mapping. This method offers a more economical and effective alternative to traditional tree planting for ecosystem restoration, promoting forestry sustainability and preserving vital biodiversity.
