South Korean stocks reversed early gains on Wednesday, with the benchmark KOSPI now on track for its steepest quarterly decline in six-and-a-half years. Elevated bond yields are weighing on investor sentiment, pushing the index towards its largest quarterly fall since the first quarter of 2020. This comes as factory output unexpectedly declined in August, adding to economic concerns. Authorities are monitoring bond markets and will intervene if yields rise excessively. Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth approximately $383 million.
