Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has directed the Fisheries Department to explore the feasibility of a state-level insurance policy for fishing boats. He also requested a ground-level report from the Kakinada District Collector, including a case study on cyclone damage to boats. During a review meeting, Kalyan stressed expediting a ₹323-crore sea protection wall project to safeguard the Uppada coast. The initiative aims to protect fishermen and coastal communities from the impact of natural disasters and erosion.
