Heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh, attributed to cyclones Murasu and Arnab, have significantly boosted water availability in the state's reservoirs. As of November 6, the combined active storage reached 505.76 thousand million cubic feet (TMC), well within the total capacity. Coastal Andhra reservoirs hold 343.18 TMC, while Rayalaseema reservoirs have 125.47 TMC. Major barrages like Sir Arthur Cotton and Prakasam are experiencing substantial inflows. This improved storage offers crucial water reserves for the upcoming agricultural season while maintaining an adequate flood cushion.
