Screenwriter Slams Yash Over Ramayana VFX Remark, Cites Dictatorship Fears

Hindustan Times · entertainment

Screenwriter Apurva Asrani has criticised actor Yash's recent plea for audiences to support the upcoming film Ramayana and not nitpick its VFX. Asrani compared Yash's comments to signs of dictatorship, stating he wouldn't be surprised if people were jailed for disliking the film. He linked Yash's remarks to India's current political climate and the treatment of CJP leaders, arguing that dissent is becoming increasingly risky. Asrani urged people to raise their voices before disagreement becomes grounds for state retaliation.
