Contractors from Maharashtra met Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to discuss pending payments of Rs 1 lakh crore from the state government. They alleged that Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, when he was CM, issued tenders exceeding budget provisions to influence the 2024 elections, potentially leading Maharashtra towards bankruptcy. The contractors highlighted that Rs 40,000 crore is owed to small contractors, causing financial distress and even suicides. Gandhi assured them he would raise the issue in Parliament and write to the state government.

महाराष्ट्र के ठेकेदारों ने राज्य सरकार से लंबित भुगतान के 1 लाख करोड़ रुपये पर चर्चा करने के लिए कांग्रेस सांसद राहुल गांधी से मुलाकात की। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि उपमुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने, जब वह मुख्यमंत्री थे, 2024 के चुनावों को प्रभावित करने के लिए बजट प्रावधानों से अधिक के टेंडर जारी किए, जिससे महाराष्ट्र दिवालियापन की ओर बढ़ सकता है। ठेकेदारों ने बताया कि छोटे ठेकेदारों को 40,000 करोड़ रुपये का भुगतान बकाया है, जिससे वित्तीय संकट और यहां तक कि आत्महत्याएं भी हो रही हैं। गांधी ने उन्हें आश्वासन दिया कि वह संसद में यह मुद्दा उठाएंगे और राज्य सरकार को पत्र लिखेंगे।
