India Core Sector Growth Slows to Three-Month Low

India's core sector witnessed a growth of 4.8% in August, a slowdown from 6.2% in the previous year and a downwardly revised 5% in July, marking a three-month low. Cement, electricity, iron ore, steel, and refinery products showed positive growth, with cement output surging 12.5% and electricity by 11.6%. However, coal, natural gas, crude oil, and fertilisers experienced negative growth. The cumulative growth for April-August stood at 4.3%.

अगस्त में भारत के कोर सेक्टर में 4.8% की बढ़ोतरी हुई। पिछले साल इसी अवधि में यह 6.2% था, और जुलाई में 5% था। यह तीन महीने का सबसे कम आंकड़ा है। सीमेंट, बिजली, लौह अयस्क, स्टील और रिफाइनरी उत्पादों में अच्छी ग्रोथ दिखी। सीमेंट उत्पादन 12.5% और बिजली 11.6% बढ़ी। लेकिन कोयला, प्राकृतिक गैस, कच्चा तेल और उर्वरक में गिरावट आई। अप्रैल से अगस्त तक कुल ग्रोथ 4.3% रही।
