The Patna High Court has denied relief to 12 students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Siwan, who were issued transfer certificates after allegedly assaulting the principal and staff. Justice Harish Kumar described the incident as disturbing and maligning the school's sanctity. While upholding the disciplinary action, the court directed the school authorities to reduce the fine imposed on each student to Rs 5,000. The verdict came after violent clashes during Saraswati Puja celebrations, leading to an FIR and the students' transfer certificates being issued by the Siwan DM.
