West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari launched the Emergency Response Support System in Kolkata, aiming to significantly reduce police response times to emergencies. He noted the current average response time is around 90 minutes, far slower than other states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, which respond within six to ten minutes. The initiative includes deploying 450 four-wheelers and an equal number of motorcycles, with plans to equip every police station with four vehicles each within a year.

पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री सुवेंदु अधिकारी ने कोलकाता में इमरजेंसी रिस्पांस सपोर्ट सिस्टम लॉन्च किया है। इसका मकसद आपात स्थिति में पुलिस की प्रतिक्रिया के समय को काफी कम करना है। उन्होंने बताया कि अभी औसतन प्रतिक्रिया का समय करीब 90 मिनट है, जो उत्तर प्रदेश, महाराष्ट्र और गुजरात जैसे राज्यों से काफी धीमा है, जहाँ छह से दस मिनट में प्रतिक्रिया मिलती है। इस पहल में 450 चार-पहिया वाहन और उतने ही मोटरसाइकिल तैनात किए जाएंगे, और एक साल के भीतर हर पुलिस स्टेशन को चार वाहन देने की योजना है।
