It noted a lack of evidence proving she quit her job to claim maintenance. The husband's claims of her employment were unsubstantiated. The court considered the husband's income and child's expenses when making its decision.

बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने पत्नी का मासिक गुजारा भत्ता बढ़ाकर 20,000 रुपये कर दिया है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि पढ़ी-लिखी पत्नी को उसकी योग्यता के कारण आर्थिक मदद से वंचित नहीं किया जाना चाहिए। कोर्ट ने इस बात पर भी ध्यान दिया कि ऐसा कोई सबूत नहीं है जिससे साबित हो कि उसने गुजारा भत्ता पाने के लिए नौकरी छोड़ी थी। पति के नौकरी के दावों को भी गलत पाया गया। कोर्ट ने पति की आय और बच्चे के खर्चों को ध्यान में रखते हुए यह फैसला सुनाया।
