Tamil Nadu to Use CSR Funds for Sports Development and Infrastructure

Tamil Nadu's Higher Education Minister P. Viswanathan announced on Friday that an inter-ministerial group has been formed to develop sports infrastructure in colleges and support young athletes. The group, including ministers for Sports, School Education, and Industries, aims to leverage CSR funds from companies operating within the state. The initiative is geared towards improving facilities and support systems, with a long-term vision of preparing athletes for the 2036 Olympics. The government also plans to fill vacant Physical Education Director positions.

तमिलनाडु के उच्च शिक्षा मंत्री पी. विश्वनाथन ने शुक्रवार को घोषणा की कि कॉलेजों में खेल इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर विकसित करने और युवा एथलीटों का समर्थन करने के लिए एक अंतर-मंत्रालयी समूह बनाया गया है। इस समूह में खेल, स्कूली शिक्षा और उद्योग मंत्रियों के साथ-साथ राज्य में काम करने वाली कंपनियों से CSR फंड का लाभ उठाने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। यह पहल सुविधाओं और सहायता प्रणालियों को बेहतर बनाने के लिए है, जिसका दीर्घकालिक विजन 2036 के ओलंपिक के लिए एथलीटों को तैयार करना है। सरकार खाली फिजिकल एजुकेशन डायरेक्टर पदों को भरने की भी योजना बना रही है।
