Mizoram PWD disburses ₹7.4 crore supplementary compensation to landowners

Mizoram's Public Works Department has begun disbursing ₹7.4 crore in supplementary compensation to 185 landowners impacted by the Aizawl bypass construction. The compensation process, managed by the PWD's project implementation unit, is scheduled for completion by October 23. This action follows threats from the Aizawl Bypass Road Western Side Landowners Welfare Association to halt road laying if their demands, including the release of ₹7.4 crore and greater transparency, were not met. The bypass project, funded under the PM-DevINE scheme, has faced landowner concerns regarding compensation and land acquisition issues.

मिजोरम के लोक निर्माण विभाग (PWD) ने ऐजवाल बाईपास निर्माण से प्रभावित 185 जमीन मालिकों को ₹7.4 करोड़ का अतिरिक्त मुआवजा बांटना शुरू कर दिया है। PWD की परियोजना कार्यान्वयन इकाई द्वारा प्रबंधित मुआवजा प्रक्रिया 23 अक्टूबर तक पूरी होने वाली है। यह कदम ऐजवाल बाईपास रोड वेस्टर्न साइड लैंडओनर्स वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन द्वारा सड़क बिछाने का काम रोकने की धमकी के बाद उठाया गया है, अगर उनकी ₹7.4 करोड़ की मांग और अधिक पारदर्शिता की मांगें पूरी नहीं हुईं। PM-DevINE योजना के तहत वित्त पोषित बाईपास परियोजना में मुआवजे और भूमि अधिग्रहण के मुद्दों पर जमीन मालिकों की चिंताएं रही हैं।
