A consumer commission in Gurdaspur has ordered MakeMyTrip to pay Rs 48,775 to an advocate. The advocate had booked two hotels in Srinagar and Gulmarg via the travel portal, but upon arrival, discovered they did not exist. The family was forced to arrange alternative accommodation in Srinagar and spend a night in their car at -4 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg due to heavy snowfall and lack of rooms. MakeMyTrip argued it was merely a facilitator, but the commission ruled against them.

गुरदासपुर के एक उपभोक्ता आयोग ने MakeMyTrip को एक वकील को 48,775 रुपये का भुगतान करने का आदेश दिया है। वकील ने ट्रैवल पोर्टल के माध्यम से श्रीनगर और गुलमर्ग में दो होटल बुक किए थे, लेकिन पहुंचने पर पता चला कि वे मौजूद ही नहीं थे। परिवार को श्रीनगर में वैकल्पिक आवास की व्यवस्था करनी पड़ी और गुलमर्ग में भारी बर्फबारी और कमरों की कमी के कारण -4 डिग्री सेल्सियस तापमान में रात अपनी कार में बितानी पड़ी। MakeMyTrip ने तर्क दिया कि वह केवल एक सुविधा प्रदाता है, लेकिन आयोग ने उनके खिलाफ फैसला सुनाया।
