India's Defence Acquisition Council has approved the procurement of 335 additional K9 Vajra tracked self-propelled howitzers for the army. This significant acquisition, estimated at ₹20,000 crore, aims to bolster the military's artillery capabilities along the borders with China and Pakistan. The new howitzers will incorporate over 70% indigenous technology, promoting domestic defence manufacturing and benefiting Indian companies like Larsen & Toubro.
