MKCG Doctors Successfully Perform Bilateral Knee Replacement in Single Sitting

Orthopaedic surgeons at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur have successfully performed a bilateral knee replacement on a 65-year-old woman in a single sitting for the first time at the institution. The patient, who had suffered severe knee pain for six years, was able to walk with minimal pain just one day after the surgery. The procedure, led by Dr. Sambit Kumar Panda, took less than three hours. The patient was discharged eight days after the operation, demonstrating a significant recovery milestone for the hospital.

बरहमपुर के एमकेसीजी मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्पताल के ऑर्थोपेडिक सर्जनों ने संस्थान में पहली बार एक ही सिटिंग में 65 वर्षीय महिला के दोनों घुटनों का सफल प्रत्यारोपण किया है। छह साल से घुटनों में गंभीर दर्द से पीड़ित मरीज सर्जरी के एक दिन बाद ही कम दर्द के साथ चलने में सक्षम थी। डॉ. संबित कुमार पांडा के नेतृत्व में हुई इस प्रक्रिया में तीन घंटे से भी कम समय लगा। मरीज को ऑपरेशन के आठ दिन बाद छुट्टी दे दी गई, जो अस्पताल के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण रिकवरी मील का पत्थर है।
