Chennai Gets Second AC Suburban Train Service

Chennai's second AC electric multiple unit (EMU) service will commence, operating on weekdays between Chennai Central and Arakkonam. Trial runs will continue. This new service follows the positive reception of the first AC EMU introduced in April. The 12-coach trains, manufactured in Chennai, can carry approximately 5,000 passengers and feature modern amenities like automatic doors, GPS displays, and CCTV. They also incorporate regenerative braking technology to save energy.

चेन्नई की दूसरी एसी इलेक्ट्रिक मल्टीपल यूनिट (EMU) सेवा चेन्नई सेंट्रल और अराककोनम के बीच सप्ताह के दिनों में चलेगी। ट्रायल रन जारी रहेंगे। यह नई सेवा अप्रैल में शुरू की गई पहली एसी EMU को मिली सकारात्मक प्रतिक्रिया के बाद आई है। चेन्नई में निर्मित 12-कोच वाली ट्रेनें लगभग 5,000 यात्रियों को ले जा सकती हैं और इनमें ऑटोमैटिक दरवाजे, जीपीएस डिस्प्ले और सीसीटीवी जैसी आधुनिक सुविधाएं हैं। ये ऊर्जा बचाने के लिए रीजेनरेटिव ब्रेकिंग तकनीक को भी शामिल करती हैं।
