Glasgow University Develops £20 Ultrasound Device To Make Fertiliser From Air
Times of India - India · india
Scientists at the University of Glasgow have created a prototype ultrasound device costing just £20 that can produce nitrate fertiliser from air and water. The technology uses sound waves to convert atmospheric nitrogen into nitrate, a vital plant nutrient. This innovation could enable farmers in remote areas to produce fertiliser on demand, reducing dependence on large industrial facilities. While still experimental and currently less energy-efficient than existing methods, researchers aim to optimise and scale up the process for affordable, decentralised fertiliser production.
