Ethanol Blending Kept Petrol Prices Lower

Ethanol blending in petrol has saved consumers approximately ₹30 per litre, according to the government. This initiative helped keep fuel prices stable for 75 days despite global crude oil prices reaching $135 a barrel. E20 petrol currently costs ₹102 per litre in Delhi. The government also refuted claims of foodgrain diversion for ethanol production, highlighting the economic benefits of this policy.

सरकार का कहना है कि पेट्रोल में इथेनॉल मिलाने से ग्राहकों के करीब ₹30 प्रति लीटर बचे हैं। इस कदम से कच्चे तेल की कीमतें $135 प्रति बैरल तक पहुंचने के बावजूद 75 दिनों तक ईंधन की कीमतें स्थिर रहीं। दिल्ली में E20 पेट्रोल अभी ₹102 प्रति लीटर मिल रहा है। सरकार ने इथेनॉल उत्पादन के लिए अनाज के इस्तेमाल की बातों को भी खारिज किया और इस नीति के आर्थिक फायदे बताए।
