Nippon Life India Asset Management has received in-principle approval from SEBI to settle a dispute concerning alleged fraudulent investments in Yes Bank AT-1 bonds. The company agreed to pay ₹96.76 crore for the settlement, which was paid in the September quarter. SEBI had alleged that between 2016 and 2019, Reliance Mutual Fund invested ₹2,150 crore in Yes Bank's AT-1 bonds in exchange for loans to Anil Ambani-backed companies. The settlement charge impacted Nippon Life AMC's September quarter net profit, causing a nearly 6% fall.
