TV9 Hindi · health

Contrary to popular belief, being thin does not guarantee good health, and normal BMI does not protect against diseases. Recent reports indicate significant variations in the risk of diabetes, fatty liver, and heart attack even between individuals with identical BMIs. This difference is primarily attributed to body composition, specifically the ratio of fat to muscle. While subcutaneous fat, which can be felt externally, is less dangerous, visceral fat accumulating around organs is highly active and poses a greater health threat.
