The AFC Asian Cup 2027, originally set to begin on January 7, 2027, in Saudi Arabia, has been rescheduled to December 23, 2027. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) confirmed the change following extensive discussions with the Local Organising Committee and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. This decision was made due to exceptional circumstances, including logistical complexities and travel disruptions arising from ongoing regional conflict and attacks. The tournament will now conclude on January 21, 2028, with the new dates requiring FIFA approval.
