Tusker Prashanth, aged 54, has been chosen to carry the 750-kg golden howdah during Mysuru Dasara's Jamboo Savari on October 21. He will succeed veteran elephant Abhimanyu, who served in the lead role for six years. Prashanth was selected by the Forest Department based on his experience, fitness, and calm temperament. Abhimanyu will now serve as the Nishane elephant, with Dhananjaya as the reserve Ambari elephant and Gopi as the Naupatt elephant.
