The Himachal Pradesh High Court has ruled that financial constraints cannot be used to deny retired employees their legitimate retiral benefits. A bench headed by Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua made the observation while hearing petitions from retired employees of Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry seeking pending leave encashment. The court directed the university to release the due leave encashment within four weeks, with a 5% annual interest penalty for delays. It emphasized that timely payment of terminal dues is crucial for pensioners' right to live with dignity.

हिमाचल प्रदेश हाई कोर्ट ने फैसला सुनाया है कि वित्तीय बाधाओं का इस्तेमाल रिटायर कर्मचारियों को उनके वाजिब रिटायरल लाभ देने से इनकार करने के लिए नहीं किया जा सकता। जस्टिस ज्योत्सना रेवल दुआ की अध्यक्षता वाली एक बेंच ने डॉ वाईएस परमार यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ हॉर्टिकल्चर एंड फॉरेस्ट्री के रिटायर कर्मचारियों की लंबित लीव एनकैशमेंट की मांग वाली याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई करते हुए यह टिप्पणी की। कोर्ट ने यूनिवर्सिटी को चार हफ्तों के भीतर बकाया लीव एनकैशमेंट जारी करने का निर्देश दिया, जिसमें देरी पर 5% सालाना ब्याज का जुर्माना भी शामिल है। इसने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि पेंशनभोगियों के गरिमा के साथ जीने के अधिकार के लिए टर्मिनल ड्यूज का समय पर भुगतान महत्वपूर्ण है।
