China has implemented new travel restrictions for its citizens, allowing authorities to ban individuals from leaving the country for up to three years if they are deemed to have endangered national security or violated export regulations. While Beijing states the rules aim to safeguard national interests and prevent illegal activities abroad, critics argue they grant the government greater control over citizens' actions and speech overseas.
