Five Bangalore landowners have received relief from the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) concerning alleged undisclosed rental income. The landowners had developed their property into an IT park and SEZ zone through a joint development agreement with a builder. A partnership firm was established to manage a specific block, with the firm receiving rent, filing returns, and paying taxes. The Income Tax Department alleged the landowners were the actual owners and the firm was a tax evasion scheme, citing disproportionate withdrawals.
