Kandala Bank Scam: Former President Alleges Audit Tampering

N. Bhasurangan, former president of the Kandala Service Cooperative Bank, has alleged deliberate mischief and political motivation behind the audit for the 2020-21 fiscal year. He claims figures were tampered with to exaggerate losses, stating the bank actually had an operational profit of ₹3.47 crore. Bhasurangan has filed a plea for a review of the audited figures, which he believes were manipulated to show an artificial loss of ₹89.57 crore. The bank's governing body was replaced by an administrative committee in August 2023 following the controversy.
