MGM Resorts Shares Tumble After Bid Withdrawal

MGM Resorts shares fell 9% after Barry Diller's People Inc withdrew its over $18 billion proposal to acquire the casino operator. The withdrawal means MGM's stock is on track for its lowest open in seven months, erasing gains made since the bid was announced in June. People Inc, which already owns 27% of MGM, had offered $48.30 per share. Diller cited that the 'mix was not coming together' as the reason for withdrawal.

एमजीएम रिसॉर्ट्स के शेयर 9% गिर गए। ऐसा इसलिए हुआ क्योंकि बैरी डिलर की 'पीपल इंक' ने 18 अरब डॉलर से ज़्यादा की अधिग्रहण की पेशकश वापस ले ली। इस वजह से, एमजीएम का शेयर सात महीने के सबसे निचले स्तर पर पहुँच गया है। जून में प्रस्ताव आने के बाद से हुए सारे फ़ायदे ख़त्म हो गए। 'पीपल इंक' के पास पहले से ही एमजीएम के 27% शेयर हैं। डिलर ने कहा कि 'बातें ठीक से नहीं बन पा रही थीं'।
