An astrologer identified as Venkatesh is on the run after allegedly duping a homemaker from Girinagar of 329 grams of gold jewellery worth ₹40 lakh. He convinced her that the ornaments were needed for religious rituals to resolve her children's problems. Over nearly a year, he collected gold in instalments, including chains, bangles, and earrings. The woman became suspicious when he sent a fake accident video and claimed he was critically injured.

गिरिनगर की एक महिला को उसके बच्चों की समस्याओं को दूर करने के लिए धार्मिक अनुष्ठानों की ज़रूरत बताकर वेंकटेश नाम के एक ज्योतिषी ने कथित तौर पर 40 लाख रुपये के 329 ग्राम सोने के गहने ठग लिए। वह करीब एक साल तक किश्तों में सोने के हार, चूड़ियां और बालियां लेता रहा। जब ज्योतिषी ने एक नकली दुर्घटना का वीडियो भेजकर खुद को गंभीर रूप से घायल बताया तो महिला को शक हुआ और अब वह फरार है।
