Invasive Carp Cause 90% of Mississippi Fish Die-Off

Hundreds of dead fish have washed ashore along the Mississippi River in Missouri and Illinois. Wildlife officials report that invasive silver and bighead carp constitute approximately 90% of the fish observed at one Missouri location. The die-off is attributed to warm temperatures, low water levels, and reduced oxygen.

मिसिसिपी नदी के किनारे मिसौरी और इलिनोइस में सैकड़ों मरी हुई मछलियाँ बहकर आ गई हैं। वन्यजीव अधिकारियों ने बताया कि मिसौरी में एक जगह देखी गई लगभग 90% मछलियाँ आक्रामक सिल्वर और बिगहेड कार्प थीं। यह मछलियों की मौत गर्मी, पानी की कमी और ऑक्सीजन की कमी के कारण हुई है।
