Nagpur ZP Revives Old Wells and Drills New Borewells Amid Drought Fears

As drought fears loom over rural Nagpur, the Zilla Parishad is implementing measures to ensure water availability. The administration is focusing on reviving defunct borewells and restoring old wells, rather than solely relying on new water supply schemes. In Kamptee taluka, plans include drilling two new borewells, flushing ten existing ones, and constructing five groundwater recharge shafts. Additionally, underground check dams and stream deepening are proposed to improve water retention.

ग्रामीण नागपुर में सूखे की आशंका के बीच, जिला परिषद पानी की उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए उपाय कर रही है। प्रशासन नए जल आपूर्ति योजनाओं पर पूरी तरह निर्भर रहने के बजाय, खराब हो चुके बोरवेलों को फिर से चालू करने और पुराने कुओं को बहाल करने पर ध्यान केंद्रित कर रहा है। कामठी तालुका में, दो नए बोरवेल खोदने, दस मौजूदा बोरवेलों को साफ करने और पांच भूजल पुनर्भरण शाफ्ट बनाने की योजना है। इसके अलावा, पानी के ठहराव में सुधार के लिए भूमिगत चेक डैम और धाराओं की गहराई बढ़ाने का प्रस्ताव है।
