Hindustan Times · environment
Delhi's air quality worsened significantly on Wednesday morning, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 373, placing it in the ‘very poor’ category. Twenty-one out of 59 monitoring stations reported air quality in the ‘severe’ category, with PM2.5 identified as the primary pollutant. Punjabi Bagh recorded the highest AQI at 452. Air quality is expected to remain in the very poor category, with potential further deterioration due to Diwali firecracker use and ongoing farm fires in neighbouring states.
