Porvorim Elevated Corridor Remains Restricted, NH 66 Gridlocked Over Long Weekend
Times of India · india
Despite its inauguration over 20 days ago, the Rs 641-crore Porvorim elevated corridor in Goa remains largely inaccessible to vehicles, failing to ease traffic congestion on the NH 66 below. The situation worsened during the recent long weekend due to increased tourist traffic. Although one entry and exit have been opened, peak-hour pile-ups persist. Promised timelines for necessary fixes, including signage, have passed without resolution. The ban on two-wheelers further exacerbates the problem by forcing them onto the lower lanes, leaving the flyover underutilized.
