Haryana to Review Power Regulator's Order; Strike Expected to End

Haryana will invoke Section 108 of the Electricity Act, 2003, to review the state electricity regulator's decision allowing private power distribution in Gurgaon and Nuh. Energy Minister Anil Vij expressed confidence that the three-day strike by electricity employees would conclude today. The government has reached an understanding with employee leaders on invoking the provision, with a meeting scheduled for Friday afternoon. The strike was called to protest the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission's decision to grant parallel distribution licenses to a private company.

हरियाणा, बिजली अधिनियम, 2003 की धारा 108 का उपयोग करके राज्य बिजली नियामक के उस फैसले की समीक्षा करेगा जिसमें गुरुग्राम और नूंह में निजी बिजली वितरण की अनुमति दी गई है। ऊर्जा मंत्री अनिल विज ने विश्वास जताया कि बिजली कर्मचारियों की तीन दिवसीय हड़ताल आज समाप्त हो जाएगी। सरकार ने इस प्रावधान को लागू करने पर कर्मचारी नेताओं के साथ एक समझौता कर लिया है, और शुक्रवार दोपहर को एक बैठक निर्धारित है। यह हड़ताल हरियाणा इलेक्ट्रिसिटी रेगुलेटरी कमीशन द्वारा एक निजी कंपनी को समानांतर वितरण लाइसेंस देने के फैसले के विरोध में बुलाई गई थी।
